Note that Zazzle has significant ongoing problems that make their Store feature very problematic: you can find out more on the forums. You will spend hours defining your personal store (or even several stores) and uploading images to create/define your products to sell on the store, but it is likely that you will experience weeks of delay before anyone can actually view your products in your store(s), due to problems with their Indexing software. It my understanding that you can use direct links to your custom products to order them, or to allow others to order them, but they may not be available through the Zazzle Marketplace or on your own Store. You will need an alternate sales venue! It may not be worth the time & frustration of creating a Zazzle store (not as easy as they say), since there is no schedule to fix the problem and your “products” may never visible in your store! This is not a new problem; it has been going on for several months, but you won’t be warned about it on the Zazzle site.

That’s so sad to hear! It is definitely frustrating to expect to start selling one day and suddenly finding out that your products will be published with weeks of delay. I guess that Zazzle makes it kinda hard to partner with them in order to filter out the artists and creators that are not really committed in providing hand made merch to the world. But they way you are putting it, it seems like Zazzle might be having severe programming/tech issues that’s driving away talented artists from their site.

Most of these websites are good if you do basic “art”. Sayings, simplistic artwork like the ‘place it’ example, etc. Or if you merely alter ‘free’ images from the website and sell them. Seen plenty of well known images that have no royalties for the original artist advertised on these sorts of websites.
Anything more advanced than that and you’ve better luck on sites like Fine Art America or Society6. Just saying.
Anyone can “finger paint” a saying or cut&paste someone else’s work. But it’s real talent that sells on some of the other POD stylized websites.

A word about my experience:
Redbubble: I’m thinking of canceling. Infested with bad designers that upload any drawing and make the search very difficult. Your idea may be good but it gets lost. Some searches reach 10,000 results. I never sold anything.
Society6: Very slow and some products do not load the image. Tried support, with no results. I canceled in a few days.
Design by Humans is very good as it requires a selection of artwork to be approved but configuring the products is pretty boring. I only configure t-shirts. I’ve already sold a few things. They do brand research, so there’s no point in drawing a Nike design, for example. What is good!
Threaless: Canceled. A lot to configure and I never sold anything.
My favorite: TeePublic! Easy, few products and I’ve already sold a few things
People say that stores have several products to increase earnings, but you have to configure all (almost) formats. In the case of Redbbuble, the guy draws a simple phrase (Hey! I’m a simple phrase!) in black and configures it for all products. Can you imagine a blanket with only this phrase getting in the way of searches so that your design thinking to occupy all the space competes in the search?
